Warnings and Precautions:
Consult your doctor if you or your child have blood disorders, atopic dermatitis, or take heart rhythm medications. A shorter application time may be needed for atopic dermatitis.
Lidocaine/Prilocaine Should Not Be Used:
Avoid use in infants under 12 months receiving methemoglobin-inducing agents and preterm newborns under 37 weeks. They are at risk of increased methemoglobin levels.
Possible Side Effects:
May cause temporary skin reactions like redness, swelling, or burning. These effects are mild and occur in treated areas.
Pediatric Population:
Side effects are similar in children and adults, but methemoglobinemia is more common in infants, especially with overdose.
Other Medicines and Lidocaine/Prilocaine:
Inform your doctor if taking antibiotics, epilepsy drugs, other anesthetics, heart medications, cimetidine, or beta-blockers. Some may increase lidocaine levels.
